Interesting Water Management System
There are currently 19 operational windmills although they are now used only in emergencies when the newer systems breakdown. Well worth seeing!

A good caterer and a very nice restaurant.
We have both eaten in the restaurant and used Windmills (twice) as a caterer. When dining in, service was very good, and the meal was excellent. I had a smoked salmon platter that was amazing. On two occasions, Windmills has catered family events (1 shower and one engagement party). The food was delivered on time, there was plenty of ... read more

Upon entering this restaurant I was immediately struck by it's welcoming atmosphere. I asked the lady behind the counter if they made cappuccinos and when she said yes, I said I'll have one! We were off to a great start.

Good food & service
A friend and I went there for our birthdays. Our waiter was great- friendly and helpful. Food was great and large portion. Staff helped us find some places to go after and were they were fun. Pretty busy on a Saturday so might want to get a reservation.

Good, but not Kingston's best.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our experience at Windmills over the Family Day long weekend. The restaurant was super busy but they were able to accomodate really well. Good restaurant, convenient to HDH hospital
Interesting menu. Good selection of local wines and beer. Super display of art works on the walls. Good service, although delivery of food can be slow. Especially in the winter, avoid a table near the front door as you will get a chilly draft. Very convenient to Hotel Dieu Hospital and the Chown municipal parking garage.

It was a very busy homecoming weekend in Kingston… Couldn't get into regular favourites for dinner, but did get a reservation at Windmills. It too was very busy, but we were not disappointed. In particular the espresso short ribs and shrimp tacos-apparently new on the menu-were excellent. Very much enjoyed this meal.
